Hi, I'm Alex 👋

I am a compassionate, empathetic, warm person who loves helping others. I love working as a psychologist and take pride in the work I do. I believe in empowering my clients and supporting them to identify their strengths and to achieve their goals.

I believe in listening to my clients and having a full understanding of their past to support their present and future. I believe in working collaboratively with clients in creating individualised intervention and treatment goals that are tailored to them. 
 
I work from a strength-based, bio-psycho-social, and holistic approach and aim to make positive and meaningful changes in my clients life. I look forward to working with you.

Academic Credentials

Alex completed a Bachelor of Social Science (psychology), a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (Honours), and a Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental).

She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Alex utilities several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Depending on what the client requires, Alex will create an individualised intervention plan from a strength-based, trauma lens, and/or behavioural approach.


Counselling Experience

Alex has experience working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents and adults.

She also has experience working in the out-of-home care system supporting kinship and foster carers with the children in their care. This also includes working with children and adults who have experiences significant trauma.

Alex has also worked with children and adolescents with intellectual disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Alex has a keen interest in working with children and adults who have experienced developmental trauma, Autism, Intellectual Disability, problematic sexualised behaviours in children, anxiety, stress, sexual assault, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

Alex has worked in a range of settings, including a community organisation, schools, and private clinics.
