Hi, I'm Bryce
I am a friendly and passionate psychologist who has a passion for supporting all people, specifically those who experience disability, Complex Trauma and working with children and young people.
I use humour (when appropriate) and a light hearted approach to assessment and intervention to build a strong therapeutic relationship, which allows for better therapeutic outcomes.
I am a strong listener and very empathic, allowing me to put myself in my clients situation.
Bryce is ready to help you improve your mental health.
Academic Credentials
I am a Registered Psychologist and worked as a Behaviour Support Practitioner for one of Australia's leading NGOs supporting young people in care and with disabilities. As such, I am registered with AHPRA and hold membership with both the Australian Psychology Society and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc.
I have experience working as a School Psychologist as I have a strong passion for supporting children and adolescents, with mental health, academic, intellectual and adaptive challenges to implement positive change in their lives.
I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Choice Theory and Feedback Informed Therapy) in combination as there is no one size fits all approach.
Counselling Experience
As previously mentioned, I have experience working within the disability and out of home care sectors, where I functioned as a both a Provisional Psychologist (home visits and in clinic) and as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. As such, I have developed skills in stake holder liaison, client advocacy and improving client autonomy and capacities.
I have strong experience supporting children and adolescents (including their supporting parents and care givers) due to my role as a School Psychologist, including assessment and intervention, safety planning and risk assessment, coping and management strategies, stake holder liaison.
I have subsequently supported these individuals with self-esteem, identity, anxiety, depression, stress challenges, in addition to bullying, sexualising abuse, interpersonal challenges, cancer support and resource provisions such as community financial, food, and housing supports to name a few.
