Jia Yee Ho

someone.health Psychologist

Hi, I'm Jia 👋

First of all, I believe that it takes a great amount of courage to seek help and want to speak to someone. Hence as a practitioner, I do not take this lightly and would want to give every person the best possible opportunity to grow and manage their life challenges. Every individual comes with different life experiences and knowledge and I would like to work together with them to help develop skills, understanding, and other resources in a warm and compassionate space.
I deeply value working in a collaborative approach and seek to understand the person as a whole rather than just a range of symptoms.

My aim is to work with the person to help develop empathy, resilience, gaining helpful insights and awareness to problems, and making meaning of their experiences to help motivate change and/or increase confidence to help them keep walking in their journeys.
I tend to use an eclectic therapeutic approach as I believe no two individuals are the same and draws techniques from a range of therapies. I focus on drawing on the person’s strengths and aims to promote awareness of barriers to achieving their desired outcomes. Lastly, my name is really quite hard to say so everyone tends to call me J.E. (like the letters J and E). Thank you for being so courageous and I look forward to working with you.
