I use a holistic method to understand each person and their individual background, situation and needs. I enjoy helping people to better understand their own behaviour patterns and world view perspectives.

I believe in helping others to find what works best for them to better improve their mental health, and to enable others with the skills needed to develop healthier and more productive coping strategies.

Academic Credentials

Rachel has completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology). She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Rachel has been trained in various evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) / Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mental Health Risk Assessment.

Counselling Experience

Rachel has 20 years experience working as a Psychologist with a diverse range of clients, primarily in community mental health however she has also worked in occupational rehabilitation, helping people to manage chronic pain and return to work plans.

Rachel has worked in corrective services helping prisoners with various mental health issues and completing psychological assessments where necessary. She has worked in private practice as well as having worked in psychiatric hospital settings, helping people in crisis situations.
