Hi, I'm Trish
Initially I prefer to work with people to clarify their personal goals for therapy so that together we can plan the best way to achieve them. Using this information a pathway forward can be developed that best suits each person’s individual needs.
Sometimes a person’s biggest need might be simply to have a safe place to talk, where they will be listened to and not judged, and that too is something I am happy to offer.
Supporting people to build resilience and develop the skills to deal with their personal challenges is also an important part of the way I work.
I employ a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Narrative therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Trish is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a registered general psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
She has a BA Honours Degree (First Class) in Psychology and a PhD in Psychology by research from the University of Adelaide.
Other qualifications include: Master of Counselling, Graduate Diploma Group Work, Diploma of Teaching: from the University of South Australia. Master of Women’s Studies, University of Adelaide. BA (Psychology) Charles Sturt University.
Trish has been working as a psychologist since 2010 in a range of settings: as a school psychologist, a general psychologist in a private practice, and as a self employed psychologist.
Prior to this she worked as a rehabilitation consultant/counsellor, in staff development and training, and teaching (children and adults) from kindergarten to secondary college and in TAFE Colleges (in NSW and the Northern Territory).
Trish lived in the Northern Territory for 11 years and enjoyed working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
She also has a particular interest in working with mid life and older/retired women. Her areas of interest and experience include: Loss, grief and bereavement, Interpersonal Difficulties, Anger management and Emotional regulation (adults and children), Assertiveness and Communication skills, Depression, Life transitions, Anxiety, Perfectionism, Low self esteem and Adjustment difficulties.
