What we treat
As a registered psychologist and a mother of two, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. Balancing family, career, and the many roles we carry in today’s world has given me a deep understanding of how mental health can be shaped by pressure, identity, expectations, and constant change. This personal insight strengthens my ability to support clients who are navigating similar challenges. Professionally, I have worked across a range of complex and high‑needs settings since 2020. My experience includes supporting children in out‑of‑home care, guiding carers through managing challenging behaviours, and helping young people build emotional regulation skills. I have also worked extensively with asylum seekers and refugees in humanitarian contexts, as well as families affected by domestic violence. These roles have equipped me with strong skills in trauma‑informed care, crisis support, behavioural intervention, and culturally sensitive practice. As a Bengali‑speaking psychologist, I understand the unique pressures faced by women of colour living abroad—balancing cultural and religious values, community expectations, and the realities of building a life in a new country. I offer culturally attuned support and can provide sessions in Bengali for clients who feel more comfortable in their first language. Across all areas of my work, I am committed to creating a safe, warm, and empowering therapeutic space. My approach is grounded in empathy, evidence‑based practice, and a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for resilience and growth.
I completed my Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Western Sydney, graduating with my postgraduate qualification in 2015. I have been practising as a psychologist since 2020, building extensive experience across a range of complex and high‑needs settings. My work has involved supporting vulnerable individuals and families, including children in out‑of‑home care, carers managing challenging behaviours, asylum seekers and refugees, and families affected by domestic violence. I currently hold general registration with AHPRA, reflecting my commitment to ethical, evidence‑based practice and ongoing professional development. My diverse clinical background, combined with my cultural insight and ability to provide sessions in Bengali, allows me to offer accessible, culturally attuned, and compassionate psychological support.
