What we treat
I am a registered psychologist and practising psychoanalyst who works with children, adolescents, and adults from both psychological and psychoanalytic perspectives. I work with a range of difficult experiences and problems, including anxiety, behavioural outbursts and anger, disordered eating and body image issues, intimacy concerns, and transitions in life such as beginning school and parenthood. I take a humanistic approach in my work, respecting your dignity, agency, and experiences. I aim to foster a safe and productive therapeutic relationship, where your concerns can be heard, understood, and addressed. My goal is to assist you in developing a new perspective on your symptoms and what role they play in the context of your life, with the aim of crafting a new way of living in line with what is important to you.
I attained a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Melbourne, and I am in the final semester of the four-year course in psychoanalysis with the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis, with a particular focus on psychoanalysis with young people and those with an eating disorder.; I have experience working at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, assisting those adjusting to living with a spinal cord injury, amputations, Parkinson's disease, and other illnesses that affect changes in people's lives. I also have experience working with the LEAP program at the Geelong clinic, an 8-bed in-patient unit for those with an eating disorder, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, from a Focal Psychodynamic Therapy perspective. Finally, I have experience working with young people and their families from 3 years and above, with difficulties including anxiety, school refusal, behavioural outbursts, and sleep disturbance.
