Hi, I’m Catherine

Hi, I'm Catherine. With many years of experience in helping people and understanding community wellbeing, I know that the challenges we face are often connected to everything around us – our families, communities, and even wider social issues. I really believe in creating a safe and supportive space where we can explore what's important to you. I often use an approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is all about learning to live a meaningful life, even when things are tough. I'm also committed to understanding and respecting everyone's unique background and experiences. My aim is to work together with you to find your strengths and move towards a more fulfilling life.

Bachelor of Arts/Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology. Masters of Public Health.; **Extensive Individual Counselling:** over 18 years providing individual therapy across community health and private settings. **ACT & Other Therapies:** Proficient in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Narrative and Strength-Based approaches, to meet diverse online client needs. **Worked with Many Different People:** Experienced supporting a wide range of individuals and communities in various health and support roles. **Trauma-Aware Approach:** Committed to understanding and responding sensitively to the impact of past experiences. **Individual Assessment & Planning:** Skilled in assessing needs and creating personalized support plans for each client. **ACT & Other Therapy Groups:** Experience leading therapy groups, including those using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma. **Supervision & Support:** Experience guiding and mentoring others in their professional development. **Strong Online Communication:** Skilled in building positive connections and working effectively with clients online. **Committed to Respecting All Backgrounds:** I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and reflection to address inequalities and ensure culturally responsive practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, people from migrant and refugee communities, trans and gender diverse people, people with disabilities, and the LGBTIQA+ community.
