What we treat
I focus hard on developing positive therapeutic relationships with the people I work with and try to understand their situations with empathy and kindness. I use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) in the delivery of therapy. The main presentations I work with include anxiety and depression. I also work and have training in OCD. I work to empower my clients to develop self management skills in order to help themselves whilst supporting them through difficult situations and hardship.
Prior to becoming a Psychologist I was a secondary high school teacher for 20 years. I obtained a degree from LaTrobe University and post graduate diploma from the University of New England. I have been a registered Psychologist for about 7 years. my strong interpersonal skills make me focus on developing a strong therapeutic relationship and I specialise in anxiety and depression treatment in adults.; I initially started working as a Psychologist with younger people. This was at a multidisciplinary clinic. I still work at this practice but with adults only. However I do still work with adolescents. I also work in a medical practice as a sole Psychologist.
