What we treat
I am a dedicated and compassionate psychologist with over 25 years of diverse experience across clinical, counselling and group settings. I am highly skilled in addressing complex psychological conditions and provide empathetic support to clients from varied cultural and social backgrounds. I have extensive experience working in both South Africa and Australia, which has provided me with a deep understanding of change, experience of loss and trauma and the subsequent impact on mental health and overall well-being. From clients in their 20s to the elderly I want to work together to achieve positive and meaningful outcomes.
I am committed to fostering personal growth, resilience and healthy relationships in individuals, communities and vulnerable populations. I am passionate about supporting others through changes in circumstances and mood. This includes palliative care, bereavement and loss. I have expertise in dealing with trauma and newly developed techniques, e.g. BWRT.
I hold a Master of Psychology from the University of Pretoria; RSA and I am a registered Psychologist with AHPRA. I have completed 2, one-year internships at The University of Johannesburg Student Counselling service and at I Military Hospital Pretoria. I have completed numerous training workshops in a variety of fields, and I am committed to ongoing professional development.; My experience ranges from starting my career in the townships of South Africa with the vulnerable and sick to working as in Private Practice in Hobart, Australia. In between I worked for an Employee Assistance Provider in Canberra and from there as a psychologist with the Australian Federal police. I relocated back to South Africa and had a thriving Private practise where I combined clinical, counselling positions at 2 private Mental Health Clinics. This also led to conducting group sessions with in-patients. I returned to Australia in 2020 and since then worked as a Psychologist in Private practise in Hobart. Each opportunity enriched my experience and my passion for the vulnerable, traumatised and the well-being of people struggling with loss, identity the effect on mood and mental wellbeing.
