What we treat
Hi I’m Maria Selvey I am a psychologist and I've been providing professional psychological care for twenty years having worked extensively with clients who have experienced attachment trauma and suffering from anxiety, depression and addiction stemming from this. I see psychology as providing a safe place to work with your current symptoms and a space to heal from your past. If you are struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, domestic violence or major life changes I offer therapy that is empathetic, compassionate and is open to all ages. The therapy I extend to you is a trauma-informed, integrative therapy that is tailored to your needs and takes into account your mind, body, nervous system, emotions and circumstances. There is an innate capacity of each person to heal and I will work with you to discover and grow this in a safe space. I do have an interest in working with people in the perinatal world, both expectant and new Mums and Dads. This can be a difficult time and if you have had any past trauma the whole process, including the birth, can be difficult. I offer support, education and intervention for those that need it in this most remarkable and, on occasion, most challenging time. I look forward to working with you in a space where we can explore your experiences and build a path towards healing and personal growth.
