What we treat
I truly love my job as a psychologist. I feel privileged when people trust me to help them through difficult times in their lives. I like to take the time to get to know a person, to put them at ease and decide together on the goals for therapy. I value individuality and 'uniqueness'. I aim to help people to see the positives in themselves and get the most out of life.
Rachel is a Clinical Psychologist, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ( AHPRA). Rachel particularly enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults, up to the age of 25. Rachel trained in the UK, and has over 20 years experience, working in schools, hospitals and community health and public mental health settings, including disability services across the UK, Australia and New Zealand. She has significant experience working with young people who are neurodivergent. Rachel has a keen interest in helping those who struggle with anxiety issues, inc social anxiety, OCD, phobias etc. She has also worked extensively with young people who experience depression and other mood disorders, alongside other significant life events, such as bullying, relationship / friendship issues and adjustment issues. Rachel also has an interest in working with parents, to help them to support their children with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Rachel has undertaken training across a broad range of therapeutic approaches, for example, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and where appropriate uses an adapted version to best suit the needs of the person.
